2018 Summer Reading Guide
Don't you ever wish someone would give YOU a summer reading list like the ones schools give your kids? Like, "here are all the books you should read right now in order to be prepared for the next year of your life." Yes please.
My 2018 Summer Reading Guide, will help point you in the right direction.
Those of you who know me already know that speed-reading is my best life skill. This means that I read A LOT of books. Even still, I occasionally wander through our amazing library or Barnes and Noble and feel overwhelmed. There are SO many books out there, and how could you possibly know which ones you can pick up and finish feeling satisfied. This is why I always rely solely on recommendations from trusted friends to pick my books. I follow friends on Goodreads, and pick up the Modern Mrs. Darcy summer reading guide every year.
As I look forward to a summer hopefully FULL of reading, I thought it might be a good time to introduce you guys to some of my favorite books. That way, next time you face a long afternoon at the pool or the wide aisles of your favorite library, you will know exactly where to look for your next favorite read. I've divided the list into Fiction and Nonfiction, and Jayci and Caden and Zay have even put together some of their favorites as a special bonus for you to share with your own kiddos this summer. In other news, my life goals this summer include the whole family reading books for at least thirty minutes a day.
In case you're wondering, before you download my list, most of my favorite books are Fiction. I like my fiction smart and engrossing, well-written and with a deeper meaning. As far as Non-fiction, I am usually drawn to issues of social justice and how to love Jesus and our neighbor in more meaningful ways.
