Our lives currently, in list form:
- Remember how we closed on our house two days before Caden was born? And then things got a little crazy when Caden joined our family? Well, because of all that, we havent really had a chance to settle into our house necessarily. And I know y'all are just dying to see pictures. But if I posted pictures right now, you would basically just see a large pile of crap. Piled on top of other crap. And you might be worried that we have turned into hoarders. Don't worry, however, because I will eventually show you what our house looks like. Without all the crap, hopefully.
- I realized a few days ago, that we currently spend 2/3 of our lives feeding Caden. Whether it's pumping, giving him a bottle, preparing a bottle, cleaning my pump parts, starting the feeding pump, cleaning the feeding pump, preparing fortified breast milk, and so on and so forth. And let me just say, it's a really good thing people are still making us meals because I don't think we'd have the energy left to feed ourselves.
- Speaking of Caden and eating, he hasn't been doing much better with the bottle than he was last time we checked in. And the cardiologist increased the amount we have to give him at each feeding, thus further reducing the likelihood that he will be able to take the entire bottle at each feeding. And we don't go back to the cardiologist for 6 weeks, so I'm a little fearful that he will be on that feeding tube until then. Which makes me feel both hopeless and not certain how we can physically keep our schedule up for that length of time.
- Basically we are stuck at home because of the aforementioned feeding schedule. So we're both a little stir-crazy at this point. Luckily, one of my friends lent me The Hunger Games, which I adore. Unfortunately, I read the first book in one day, which doesn't bode well for the amount of time I will be entertained by the series. If you haven't read it, I highly recommend. Highly.
- Little man is finally allowed a little "tummy time." He has to be inclined while doing it until his sternum is completely healed (which takes 6-8 weeks), but it's exciting to do some "normal" baby things with Caden. Oh and if you haven't noticed, Caden has what we like to call an "expressive forehead." Those wrinkles just kill me.
